Why Normandy Tour Matters

World War II defined the 20th century. And there is no better place to relive the conflict than here on the beaches of Normandy.

On D-Day, the 6th of June 1944, American, British, Canadian, and other Allied forces launched the largest seaborne invasion in history. Their goal: to establish a foothold in Nazi-occupied France and begin the liberation of Western Europe.

It is here that the American and French people’s history intertwine so deeply, and these events are why our two people have formed such an important friendship in the decades since.

The American landings, particularly at Omaha Beach and Utah Beach, were marked by extraordinary bravery. Despite facing fierce German resistance and heavily fortified bunkers, the Allied forces persevered and won the day. Their sacrifice paved the way for the liberation of Paris just two months later and ultimately contributed to the end of the Nazi regime.

Exploring the Beaches of Normandy

Once you arrive, the tour begins in earnest. You’ll walk through the most famous D-Day landing sites.

1 – The Landing Beaches

Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno, and Sword Beaches were the invasion sites, and you’ll see them in person. Ivan will show how the geography that lay before you played into the events of that gruesome day.
But most importantly, you’ll stand there in the exact place where soldiers fought and died as history hung in the balance.

2 – German Bunkers

Tour the eerie remnants of The Atlantikwall (Hitler’s Atlantic Wall), a series of concrete structures built to repel the Allied forces.

As the walk of Longues-sur-Mer Battery is open to public, we can add this stop to our tour.
The horrific reality of the invasion comes home as you look out on the beaches from these bunkers.

3 – The American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer

This proves to be a moving, solemn stop on the journey. Overlooking Omaha Beach, this cemetery and memorial is the final resting place of 9,388 American soldiers. The rows of white crosses and stars of David are a humbling reminder of their sacrifice.
The visitor center contains letters, artifacts, and personal stories. Fans of Saving Private Ryan will recognize this place from the film’s opening and closing sequences.

4 – Arromanches and the Artificial Harbor

Here is the engineering marvel that allowed Allied forces to rapidly deploy more men and materiel into the fighting once D-Day concluded.
You’ll learn about the technical feats of the invasion, including Operation Fortitude, which used a shipment of fake tanks and dummy radio transmissions to fool the Germans about where the invasion would occur.

Bonus : Sainte-Mère-Église : Have you seen this mannequin hanging from the church of Sainte-Mère-Église? It is in tribute to John Steele.

Coming Back to Paris

The tour ends with the drive back to Paris, dropping you off at your hotel around 7:00 PM.

I was born near Paris and lived there again for three years  from 9-12 years old. I wanted to see the hospital where I was born, to see the military base where we were stationed, the home where we lived and the fields and woods where we played. Our driver Thierry was polite, professional and did an outstanding job making our day special . He stopped for photos I wanted and he became very involved in my story. It turned out that he spent his early childhood in an adjacent village and had never returned. I was showing him places in the area he had never been. He got so involved, he even scaled to the top of a stone wall while wearing a business suit just to take a video of the fields where we played. He made this day the highlight of our stay.   Serge and his company were amazing! We used them for 4 different times over the course of 2 weeks while we were in Paris. Each driver was amazing, kind, and knowledgeable. They were all able to answer questions about landmarks, Paris and France in General. They had water for all and treats for the kids.   Arranged for my 9yr old son to be chauffeur driven to a tour of PSG stadium, then around the sights of Paris, followed by being taken to the PSG game at night.  He was treated like a king by our driver.  😁😍 Safe, friendly and efficient.  Able to message the driver at each stop we made and collected instantly.   Truly First-Class Paris Service — Flawless from Start to Finish From the moment we arrived at Charles de Gaulle, this team delivered absolute excellence. Our arrival Concierge Joseph and Chauffeur Michel met us right at the gate as we disembarked from the plane, escorted us seamlessly through customs, handled every detail of our luggage and phone activation, and set the tone for a perfect Paris experience. For our 8 hour private city tour, we were guided by Alexandra, whose knowledge and warmth made Paris come alive, and driven by Sam, whose professionalism and elegance behind the wheel were unmatched. On a more personal touch awaiting on the seat was Two dozen Roses for my wife for whom this was her first time ever in Paris, Chocolates, Champagne,  and Souvenirs had all been arranged. Their teamwork made every stop effortless from Montmartre to the Eiffel Tower, and everywhere in between. While we were at Moulin Rouge Sam even went out and bought me a pack of cigarettes while we continued our tour. Then after the evening boat ride on the Seine, we were dropped us off at our hotel in La Defense and Sam ventured back out into the night to pick up a late dinner for us as the hotel restaurant had already closed for the evening. Truly above and beyond the call of duty. When it came time to depart, Michel returned, punctual and polished. He was accompanied by Concierge Elian, whose professionalism and swift action turned an unexpected challenge at the airport into a flawless resolution that otherwise would have been disaster.   My wife and her mother spent a few days in Paris on a world trip earlier this year.   We visited Paris on a 3-day pre-cruise package.  We booked a one day private tour, and the tour company recommended Limo Premium Services.  The scheduling process was efficient, and the fees were reasonable. Sam, our driver did an excellent job safely escorting us around the city during our tour. He was friendly and accommodating during our time with him. The car was luxurious and stocked with water and snacks.   We had the best experience in Paris. I’m not sure where to begin. FABRICE was an excellent driver. He picked us up from the airport and drove us to Versailles and then that evening picked us up from our hotel and took us to and from the Dua Lipa concert with true VIP service!  He then helped us get to and from Roland Garros with ease with my 85 year old mother and always made sure she was able to get in and out of his Mercedes Van easily.   We contacted Serge about a driving tour of Paris.  He arranged a 4 hour sightseeing tour in a Mercedes Van for our group of 4, which included my dad (83 years) and uncle (84 years).  Our driver, David arrived promptly to pick us up at our flat and right from the outset we knew we made a great choice. David was an exceptional driver and provided terrific historical commentary for all of the spots we visited.  He was particularly accommodating for my dad and uncle - David made sure that when we stopped for a picture that we were always in a spot that was easy for walking and in/out of the van.  My uncle, in particular, loved the banter with David and it was the highlight of our Paris visit thus far - and I am sure it will be difficult to top.   These guys went above and beyond! Our driver, Sam, picked us up for our wedding photoshoot, and brought the absolute best croissants we had while in Paris (from La Maison D'Isabelle) along with some wonderful accompaniments, snacks, and water. When overhearing that we left something important at the hotel, he already began devising a plan to get the items while we were busy at our stop and took that worry off our plates. While we were talking in the car, he overheard the places that we were talking about and sent the names via WhatsApp so that we wouldn't forget. Sam's professionalism, kindness, and friendly/helpful demeanor made our special day even better - you could not ask for a better driver. For coordinating the trip, Serge was always quick to respond and able to accommodate all the requests that we had with ease. If you're looking for a fun, hassle-free, and entertaining day, this is who you're going to want to be there with you.   Can't say enough about our trip with LPS (and specifically our driver David!). From beginning to end, David went above and beyond to give us a great experience. We had to change our pickup and dropoff time and he was incredibly accommodating. He even had gifts for our kids in the van.
